IF YOU COULD BE ANY CHARACTER / SYMBOL / PERSONALITY WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
An elephant. They are slow and steady but powerful and strong. They show compassion and wisdom but are not afraid to be brutal if they need to. They can balance delicately on an egg without breaking it and can push straight through a big tree.
HOW WOULD YOU ‘CREATIVELY’ DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE OF PRACTICE?
Like a Fever tree. Loved by elephants. Grounded and strong with the ability to move and grow allowing students to blossom into their own practice and reveal their true colours. Fever trees often grow in beautiful forests with a wide canopy nurturing all sorts of creatures big and small.
WHAT DO YOU FIND THE GREATEST BENEFITS OF YOUR YOGA PRACTICE TO BE?
Yoga and mindfulness has helped me to manage the effects of trauma and post traumatic stress disorder which lead me to depression and an absolute disconnection with my own body. It’s through my Yoga practice and being able to stay more connected to present moment experiences that I have learned to be more self compassionate and in turn more compassionate to others. I have been able to heal my own hurts and build up more caring relationships.
WHAT IS THE LESSON / GIFT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOUR STUDENTS TAKE AWAY AFTER ATTENDING YOUR CLASS?
I hope to share the same benefits I have received. I hope that my students are able to begin to recognise their full potential physically and spiritually and to become more aware of each present moment experience, recognising the miracle in each ordinary moment.
